We are pleased to announce that we will be partnering with St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Fargo, ND to offer our Becoming An Ally Full Training during the month of June on Wednesday nights at 5pm. Training sessions are free and open to the congregation and the surrounding community.

Training Module Descriptions
Module 1: Understanding LGBTQ+ Identity – June 7
Module 1 provides a concise overview of LGBTQ+ identity, including understanding the difference between gender and sex, gender identity and sexual orientation, gender pronouns, words and terms to avoid, the science behind identity, and myths about the community.
Module 2: Decoding Privilege and Biases – June 14
Module 2 covers the basics of cisheteronormative privilege and how that privilege becomes a lens through which we are subconsciously biased against the LGBTQ+ community.
Module 3: Current Issues and Outcomes – June 21
Module 3 provides a concise overview of the current issues and developmental outcomes experienced by transgender individuals, including a lack of legal protections, anti-transgender legislation, violence and murder, barriers to healthcare, and barriers in education, housing, and employment.
Module 4: Strategic Steps for Righting Wrongs – June 28
Module 4 provides a concise overview of the steps allies can take to make their communities safer and more inclusive of transgender individuals, including standing up and speaking out, making allyship an essential component of your life, demanding change in your community, and showing consistent support.
St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church is a vibrant, small Episcopal congregation in North Fargo. They are members of Integrity, the Episcopal Church organization promoting inclusion and support for the LGBTQ+ community both within the Episcopal Church and in the communities it serves. St. Stephen’s is a vocal supporter of LGBTQ+ inclusion in the Episcopal Diocese of North Dakota and equality in North Dakota. They are active supporters of FM Pride and the FM Gay Men’s Chorus. The church has Mass on Wednesdays at 6, immediately following the workshop, and attendees are welcome to stay for Mass and join the congregation for supper at a local restaurant following the short service.
The church is located at 121 20th Avenue North in Fargo. The sessions will be held in the lower level of the church. Enter through the main entrance facing 20th Avenue and take the stairs located across from the main entrance down to the lower level.
Accessibility: An accessible entrance off the parking lot leads to an elevator which goes to each level of the church. An accessible bathroom is located on the upper level across from the elevator.
